A Day in the Morning of an Entrepreneur
When I wake up each morning I am already aware of the 25 things I have to do before I head to the gym at 5:30 am. Yes, that’s right, 5:30am. The minute I wake up it is like a lightning bolt hits my brain and it is immediately flooded with everything I need and want to accomplish that day. My morning ritual from the time I open my eyes consist of me saying a prayer thanking God for all of the things I can think of that He has blessed me with that day.
I take a few minutes to do a 6 step meditation that I learned at Mind Valley and then I am immediately running upstairs to start preparing for my workout. I do have the worst habit of returning emails and engaging my business partners overseas or on the east coast before my workout but hey, I am a tad obsessive. The thought of being bogged down by email before 8am sounds horrific to me.
By the time I hit the gym at 5:30 I am already dreading that I returned those emails because now In fully engaged in business mode and everyone and anyone i see will be engaged by me with either a smile, a “what’s up?’ and sometimes a full conversation. The nature of what I do is usually an interesting conversation for people and with my curiosity about other people’s lives it is shocking I get any workout in at all. A friend of mine who own Titanium Success i created 30-minute workout his thoughts to anyone who will speak to him or engages him on social media and by the look of how spirit ripped he is, it works. I have yet to escape the gym before two hours is up between all of the conversations and the workout I do end up getting done. You see, I do not go to the gym at 5:30 for fun, I do it because I know after 8am my day goes into hyper drive until 8pm each night.
Every single morning I do the same thing. Every morning, no matter how little I sleep or how bad I feel, I do the same exact thing including the breakfast I eat. I am extremely disciplined in my routine and I am extremely productive each day. Where my discipline lacked was the food I chose to eat. Before my entrepreneur/consulting career took off I took the time to ensure I would eat a healthy breakfast.
Not only did this start my day off with the right nutrition but it also guaranteed the rest of my meals that day would be healthier or least I would not be eating in a car and throwing away a greasy bag after I swallowed the food whole. Somewhere along the line, I got “too busy” and started hitting up drive through to eat a quick “meal” or I would forget to eat. Believe it or not, after 2 months of this, I gained 40 pounds.It is funny about getting older.
Gaining weight or getting fat if I was being truthful, does not give you a warning. I swear it happens overnight. I went from rocking a custom fit suit to busting out of one in 2 months. I do not understand the human psyche because after having conversations with my Dr and him telling me I needed to lose weight it never really affected me. I was busy and my work was more important I lied to myself. I told myself I would eat healthier and even tried cooking again but I go even busier.
I went to the health food store and bought a few different meal replacements and tried those instead to at least postpone my appetite but all that did was make me more hungry!! It was not until I went to one of my doctors offices who carries Liquid Biocell for his patients that he threw me this new meal replacement that he said he loved and he wanted me to try it. I had not eaten all morning and was about to eat my dogs arm so I tried it there in his office. I am not a fan of an Orange Sherbet but this was actually pretty good. I was convinced that I would want a cheeseburger in 30 minutes but that did not happen. Amazingly I was full for four hours. I am still shocked however that was the motivation I needed.
Now, immediately after I workout and my day has already started to become frantic I consume one of these shakes. Knowing that I will be busy at lunch too I keep an extra one with me even if I have a business lunch. In fact I will even consume the meal replacement before I have meetings so that I will not scarf down restaurant food, which usually consist of bags of chips and salsa or fried onions. I have been doing this now for 3 weeks and I have lost a few pounds however the best indicator that I am doing something right is that I look more defined and my workouts are way more intense.
